The FDA Health Fraud team focuses on identifying and disrupting health fraud scams involving FDA regulated products. Their investigations involve dietary supplements tainted with unapproved active pharmaceutical ingredients. These may include:

• Weight loss supplements containing undeclared sibutramine
• Sexual performance dietary supplements containing sildenafil and tadalafil (the active ingredients in Viagra and Cialis, respectively); and
• Diabetes dietary supplements with undeclared metformin.
