Beta Technologies is an innovative company that is developing and manufacturing electric air crafts with contracts worldwide. Food service is a free benefit to employees at this company, providing free meals to over 650 employees prepared at a central kitchen and served at seven Beta sites in South Burlington and Williston, Vermont. The food program charter is “to feed everyone well- healthy, fresh, no refined sugars- and as local as possible.” The kitchen staff has been rigorously trained and is able to accommodate a variety of dietary needs from life threatening allergies, disease-related conditions and food choices. Their philosophy is: "Just Simple Enough to Be Revolutionary"
The purpose of this activity is to raise the learner’s awareness about how this company fulfills its charter by integrating fresh, local foods while being able to accommodate a variety of dietary needs. The activity will provide practical tools, and engage the learner to implement strategies that combine culinary skills so that they can effectively incorporate healthy eating into clients’ diets and deliver optimal food service.
